Your new role

As the Director ,Clinical Medical Manager Team you will build an exciting new team, addressing current and future needs based on local and global portfolio requirements. Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Building the strategy for, and providing oversight to the new Clinical Medical Manager (CMM) team
  • Establishing strong collaboration between the CMM Team and the Clinical Development group, as well as Medical Affairs
  • Overseeing the PDP (Product Development Plan) process for NNCI, working collaboratively with the region and supporting other assessment initiatives such as Trial Portfolio Review, Trial feasibility, and protocol review, development of early scientific insights and guidance, and patient journey creation
  • Site identification and feasibility: Overseeing the identification KOLs, investigators and research centers, in collaboration with medical affairs and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring strong collaboration with the CDC for site assessment, and site feasibility
  • Overseeing the CMM team’s contribution to Clinical activities. This includes supporting trial recruitment, risk assessments and mitigation and ongoing medical monitoring and support
  • Delivering Medical guidance, including training of key stakeholders across the organization.

Your new department

You will be part of the Clinical Development, Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs team at Novo Nordisk Canada. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment while contributing to Novo Nordisk’s mission of improving patient outcomes.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • MD or PhD in healthcare (or a Pharmacist/Master of Science with a strong, relevant background)
  • 5+ years of experience in the clinical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven team leadership and team-building experience
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical drug development, local healthcare infrastructure, and clinical research/science
  • Strategic capabilities and business acumen, with flexibility across therapeutic areas
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 20% nationally and internationally.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in a director-level role
  • Experience as a clinical trial investigator or sub-investigator
  • Background in a Medical Affairs function.
